In: Nuclear Physics A, 2007, vol. 796, no. 1-4, p. 1-10

Nanosecond lifetime measurements were performed in ¹⁹⁶Au by means of the pulsed-beam technique. Using the centroid-shift method, one new lifetime has been determined and three known have been re-measured. The data for the transition probabilities are compared to the predictions of the extended supersymmetry for ¹⁹⁶Au. The comparison reveals a partial agreement, which can be considered...

Properties of ¹¹²Cd from the (n,n',γ) reaction: Lifetimes and transition rates

Garrett, P. E. ; Green, K. L. ; Lehmann, H. ; Jolie, J. ; McGrath, C. A. ; Yeh, M. ; Yates, S. W.

In: Physical Review C, 2007, vol. 75, p. 054310

Lifetimes of levels below 4 MeV in ¹¹²Cd have been measured using the Doppler shift attenuation technique following inelastic scattering of monoenergetic neutrons. Reduced transition rates are determined using the results of previous studies and the current lifetimes. The electromagnetic properties of ¹¹²Cd are outlined, and together with results from previous nucleon-transfer studies and...

The cold neutron tomography set-up at SINQ

Materna, T. ; Baechler, Sébastien ; Jolie, J. ; Masschaele, B. ; Dierick, M. ; Kardjilov, N.

In: Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 2004, vol. 525, p. 69-73

The cold neutron tomography station operated at SINQ (Paul Scherrer Institute, Switzerland) is reviewed. The high neutron flux together with a set-up based on a scintillator screen and a CCD camera yielded fast and effective results with resolution down to 250 μm: tomography of small samples (up to 2 cm large) could be performed in less than an hour. The use of a velocity selector improved the...
