Confédéré and previous titles
The first issue of the Confédéré du Valais was published on Wednesday January 2nd 1861. The newspaper did not carry a political label until 1868 when it described itself as ‘liberal’. Its frequency of publication varied between once and three times a week depending on the state of the economy. The title is still published and is celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2011.Newspaper's Archives Website
