Journal et feuille d’avis du Valais

Founded by Emile Gessler, the Journal et feuille d’avis du Valais et de Sion was first published on Saturday November 28th 1903. Like its contemporary the Nouvelliste it followed a conservative line, with the motto "For Valais and Switzerland, peace and prosperity through work!". The newspaper was initially issued three times a week, then daily from 1957. It was absorbed by the Nouvelliste in 1968.
