    Summary
The following paper was written as a research paper for the course of Ecumenical Theology at the Ecumencial Institute in Bossey during the winter semester of 2013/14. It was then submitted to the “Hochschulpreis des Evangelischen Bundes Württemberg 2013” and honoured with the first prize in October 2014. The paper deals with the recently published convergence document of the World Council of Churches “The Church: Towards a Common Vision” (2013), and compares it with the exclusively Protestant ecclesiological document “The Church of Jesus Christ” (1994). The paper reflects on the different ecclesiologies presented by the two documents and asks how they can relate to each other. Hanne Lamparter studied French and Protestant Theology in Tübingen, Münster, Jerusalem and Bossey and is currently a doctoral student at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen.
