Occasional poem dedicated to Christophe Reyff's son. Reyff was a statesman, a vivid defender of Jesuits and close to Canisius. The author, Pierre Cardinaux of Bulle, was called in the year of publication of the poem to become professor of the University of Freiburg im Breisgau where he held the chair of metaphysics until his death in 1593.

This is the very first printed work who has been published by the "officine typographique d'Abraham Gemperlin", the first printer of the canton of Fribourg.
