In this Brief Report, we study the synchronization of growing scale-free networks. An asymmetrical age-based coupling method is proposed with only one free parameter α. Although the coupling matrix is asymmetric, our coupling method could guarantee that all the eigenvalues are non-negative reals. The eigenratio R will approach 1 in the large limit of α

The structural and dynamical properties, particularly the small-world effect and scale-free feature, of complex networks have attracted tremendous interest and attention in recent years. This article offers a brief review of one focal issue concerning the structural and dynamical behaviors of complex network synchronization. In the presentation, the notions of synchronization of dynamical systems...

In this paper, the accumulated payoff of each agent is regulated so as to reduce the heterogeneity of the distribution of all such payoffs. It is found that there exists an optimal regulation strength at which cooperation in the prisoner's dilemma game is optimally promoted. If the heterogeneity is regulated to be either too weak or too strong, the promotive effect disappears and the evolution of...

Some epidemic spreading models are usually applied to analyze the propagation of opinions or news. However, the dynamics of epidemic spreading and information or behavior spreading are essentially different in many aspects. Centola's experiments [ Science 329 1194 (2010)] on behavior spreading in online social networks showed that the spreading is faster and broader in regular networks than in...
