In: Surface Science, 2015, vol. 639, p. 39-42

We report on the deposition of sub-monolayer Ag on the Si(331)–(12 × 1) surface. The growth of one-dimensional Ag nanostructures is observed by means of low- temperature scanning tunneling microscopy and low energy electron diffraction. We find that the deposited Ag is organized in nanostructures consistently taking “sawtooth” shapes. While the structures are not perfectly organized,...

Combined platinum/perovskite catalyst for an efficient nanostructured air electrode

Thiele, Doreen

In: Materials Chemistry and Physics, 2010, vol. 124, no. 1, p. 529-534

This work shows the stepwise improvement of air electrodes by the right combination of catalysts. In all electrodes carbon nanotubes serve as carbon support. The electrodes are produced by ultrasonic mixing of the carbon nanotubes and the catalysts. Their catalytic activity towards oxygen reduction in alkaline solution is evaluated by polarisation curves and electrochemical impedance...

Synthesis of C 1- and C 3ν-symmetric porphyrin trimers based on triphenylmethane cores

Papamicaël, Cyril A. ; Mongin, Olivier ; Gossauer, Albert

In: Monatshefte für Chemie / Chemical Monthly, 2007, vol. 138, no. 8, p. 791-796

This work describes the synthesis of a new class of tripodaphyrin derivatives with a triphenylmethane core. Both C₁- and C3ν-symmetric tetrahedral large molecules with covalently linked rigid elements were obtained.
