Double K-shell photoionization and hypersatellite x-ray transitions of 12⩽Z⩽23 atoms

Hoszowska, Joanna ; Dousse, Jean-Claude ; Cao, Wei ; Fennane, Karima ; Kayser, Yves ; Szlachetko, Monika ; Szlachetko, Jakub ; Kavčič, Matjaz

In: Physical Review A, 2010, vol. 82, no. 6, p. 063408

Single-photon double K-shell ionization of low-Z neutral atoms in the range 12⩽Z⩽23 is investigated. The experimental method was based on measurements of the high- resolution Kαh hypersatellite x-ray spectra following the radiative decay of the K-shell double-vacancy states excited by monochromatic synchrotron radiation. The photon energy dependence of the double K-shell ionization was...

In: Physica Scripta, 2011, vol. 2011, no. T144, p. 014021

The present work provides a reliable interpretation of the Khα₁/Khα₂ intensity ratios and an explanation of the lifetime values for K-shell hollow atoms based on an advanced theoretical analysis (using extensive multiconfiguration Dirac–Fock calculations with the inclusion of the transverse Breit interaction and quantum electrodynamics...

In: Scientific Reports, 2016, vol. 6, p. 33292

X-ray techniques have evolved over decades to become highly refined tools for a broad range of investigations. Importantly, these approaches rely on X-ray measurements that depend linearly on the number of incident X-ray photons. The advent of X-ray free electron lasers (XFELs) is opening the ability to reach extremely high photon numbers within ultrashort X-ray pulse durations and is leading...

Vacuum ultraviolet excitation luminescence spectroscopy of few-layered MoS 2

Pankratov, V ; Hoszowska, Joanna ; Dousse, Jean-Claude ; Huttula, M ; Kis, A ; Krasnozhon, D ; Zhang, M ; Cao, Wei

In: Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter, 2016, vol. 28, no. 1, p. 015301

We report on vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) excited photoluminescence (PL) spectra emitted from a chemical vapor deposited MoS₂ few-layered film. The excitation spectrum was recorded by monitoring intensities of PL spectra at ~1.9 eV. A strong wide excitation band peaking at 7 eV was found in the excitation. The PL excitation band is most intensive at liquid helium temperature and completely...

Radiative recombination (RR) into the K shell and L subshells of U92+ ions interacting with cooling electrons has been studied in an x-ray RR experiment at the electron cooler of the Experimental Storage Ring at GSI. The measured radiative recombination rate coefficients for electron-ion relative energies in the range 0–1000 meV demonstrate the importance of relativistic effects. The observed...

In: Journal of Physics: Conference Series, 2015, vol. 635, no. 10, p. 102009

We report on nonlinear interaction of solid Fe with intense femtosecond hard x-ray free-electron laser (XFEL) pulses. The experiment was performed at the CXI end-station of the Linac Coherent Light Source (LCLS) by means of high- resolution x-ray emission spectroscopy. The focused x-ray beam provided extreme fluence of ~10⁵ photons/Ų. Two-photon absorption leading to K-shell hollow atom...

In: Physical Review A, 2015, vol. 92, no. 2, p. 022507

Fluorescence yields (FYs) for the Ge L shell were determined by a theoretical and two experimental groups within the framework of the International Initiative on X-Ray Fundamental Parameters Collaboration. Calculations were performed using the Dirac-Fock method, including relativistic and QED corrections. The experimental value of the L3FYωL3 was determined at the Physikalisch-Technische...

Study of the reactivity of silica supported tantalum catalysts with oxygen followed by in situ HEROS

Błachucki, Wojciech ; Szlachetko, Jakub ; Kayser, Yves ; Dousse, Jean-Claude ; Hoszowska, Joanna ; Fernandes, Daniel L. A. ; Sá, Jacinto

In: Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics, 2015, vol. 17, no. 28, p. 18262–18264

We report on the reactivity of grafted tantalum organometallic catalysts with molecular oxygen. The changes in the local Ta electronic structure were followed by in situ high-energy resolution off-resonant spectroscopy (HEROS). The results revealed agglomeration and formation of Ta dimers, which cannot be reversed. The process occurs independently of starting grafted complex.

Kayser, Yves ; Hönicke, Philipp ; Banaś, Dariusz ; Dousse, Jean-Claude ; Hoszowska, Joanna ; Jagodziński, Paweł ; Kubala-Kukuś, Aldona ; Nowak, Stanisław H. ; Pajek, Marek

In: Journal of Analytical Atomic Spectrometry, 2015, p. -

Depth-profiling measurements by means of synchrotron radiation based grazing XRF techniques, i.e., grazing emission X-ray fluorescence (GEXRF) and grazing incidence X-ray fluorescence (GIXRF), present a promising approach for the non-destructive, sub-nanometer scale precision characterization of ultra shallow ion-implantations. The nanometer resolution is of importance with respect to actual...
