The aim of this work is to study a roman leather shoe sole with iron nails. It was excavated in 1990 from a navigable canal located near the antique city of Aventicum (Avenches). After the excavation, it was treated with PEG 400 and freeze-drying, and packed in a polyurethane (PUR) foam with plaster.
