Revue Tranel

Revue Tranel
The TRANEL collection (TRAvaux NEuchâtelois de Linguistique), journal of the Institute of Linguistics and Communication of the University of Neuchatel, established in 1980, is published twice a year. The volumes are published on paper, but the entire collection is also available free of charge on RERO doc. Its directions are various : semantics, pragmatics, syntax, speech therapy, sociolinguistics, conversational analysis, bilingualism, terminology, diachronic change, variation, language skills, etc. The journal provides an overview of research at the Institute of Linguistics and Communication, it also provides an opportunity for researchers from other backgrounds to offer original themes and begin editing an issue.
It works on the principle of peer review, but reserves itself the right to refuse publication of an article, even after revision, that would be considered of insufficient scientific quality by experts.

We will analyse exemples in which participants take a...

Horlacher, Anne-Sylvie ; Müller, Gabriele M.

In: Revue Tranel (Travaux neuchâtelois de linguistique), 2005, vol. 41, p. 127-145

In this paper we examine a grammatical construction known as Right-Dislocation (for exemple: c'est nul ce carnaval) in a corpus of conversational French data. It has often been argued that RD presupposes that the referent be discourse-active or highly accessible (Givón 1983; Lambrecht 1981). Moreover, it has been widely claimed that in RDs, the dislocated element offers an informational...

La dislocation à droite comme ressource pour l’alternance des tours de parole: vers une syntaxe incrémentale

Horlacher, Anne-Sylvie

In: Revue Tranel (Travaux neuchâtelois de linguistique), 2007, vol. 47, p. 117-136

In spoken interaction, participants can sometimes be seen to self-select after a possible turn completion point, expanding thus their own speaking turn. Conversation analytic research has variously described such turn-continuations – the wide-spread accepted term being increments (Schegloff, 1996, 2000, 2001; Ford, Fox Walker, 2001, 2004; Couper-Kuhlen & Ono, 2007). In...
