    Summary
    Usually large 3D simulations are used to calculate the cosmic microwave background anisotropies induced by global scalar fields. By going to the largeN limit and solving the equations of motion analytically, we can drastically reduce the amount of numerical computations needed, while still finding results quite similar to the corresponding functions in the texture model
