If negotiating spelling is an exercise, then what does it practise?

If we consider that doing an exercise involves practising something or putting something into practice, then negotiating spelling is a spelling exercise. We examine the possible objectives of negotiating spelling with regard to grammar. Should we be satisfied with limited usage for the sake of proficiency in basic spelling rules or can we envisage the prospect of improved syntactic ability which would not be detrimental to basic spelling and would bring the added benefit of greater grammatical knowledge?
Si l’on considère que faire un exercice, c’est pratiquer ou mettre en pratique, alors la négociation graphique (NG) relève de l’exercice d’orthographe. Nous interrogeons les objectifs que peut avoir la NG sur le plan grammatical. Faut-il se contenter d’une utilisation circonscrite dans la perspective de la maitrise d’un socle orthographique commun ou peut-on envisager la perspective d’une maitrise améliorée de la syntaxe qui ne nuirait pas au socle orthographique mais avec le bénéfice d’en savoir plus en grammaire ?
